Wild Marigold (Calendula arvensis) in the Caribbean under warm & partially shaded conditions the Marigold blooms a deep yellow. The plant often spreads from cutting thrown away by gardeners, this flower was found lining a track through Kilgwyn Mangrove.

Snakes of Tobago - The Laura  (Leptophis ahaetulla). A common pencil thin snake of light woodland and scrub. Caribbean wildlife Photo by Robert Brent

The Laura is a small snake that mainly hunts lizards and frogs in light woodland and bush, replying on it's bright green coloration to avoid detection from raptors and other birds. A harmless snake, but no matter how harmless it is still killed on sight by humans simply because it is a snake. What a shame.
