It is normal practice in flower photography to lose the background, however I feel in this instance the backdrop places this vibrant floral centerpiece in a delightfully inviting atmosphere. A romantic dinner overlooking the Caribbean Sea, I don't know about you, but that would suit me nicely.

Rain Tree (Samanea saman) of Trinidad & Tobago. Native to tropical America the Raintree is a large deciduous tree that can grow up to 40 m often with a wide umbrella shaped spread if little competition exists. The tree sheds it's leaves at the onset of dry season (Nov - Jan) blooms are attractive pink and white filaments. Samsung Pro815 floral photography.

Flower Photography Bourgainvillea

Bourgainvillea is not one of the easier flowers to photograph in my estimation, most shots just fail to make the mark one way or another. The gentle transition of light purple to cream white on this plant caught my eye and a macro focus.

In honor of floral Friday a couple of flower shots then, this being the Pride of Barbados (Caesalpinia pulcherrima) a strong grower in the tropics which is popular with hummingbirds. Macro shot taken with a Samsung 850Pro Natural light.
